Storytelling for Change - a special thank you

When Natasha Fernando turned 35, she found herself “thinking a lot about community, generosity, service, legacy, and impacts over time.” Wanting to couple her experience in helping people write their memoirs with wanting to support the community, she launched her site Barnacles for All and created a how-to storytelling guide to assist people in crafting their life story.

Natasha has generously chosen to donate 100% of proceeds from the sales of Barnacles for All to Matthew House Ottawa and the Legacy of Hope Foundation until December 31, 2021. As an immigrant, she particularly has a heart for encouraging minority communities to share their stories which often get sidelined.

“Everyone's story is valuable. Every life story has a Hero’s Journey,” she explains. A goal is to help minorities to get their stories down on paper and into the world, because these stories matter as much as anyone else’s. Storytelling can be used to create a memoir, family heirloom, personal application, testimony, or even just your private reflections.

Her 30-page how-to guide is available for sale here. Each digital copy is just $8.00. If you’re interested in supporting Matthew House Ottawa and strengthening your storytelling skills, this is a great opportunity to do both!
